The awe-inspiring scenery you encounter along the way is truly a feast for the senses, surpassing any other mountainous terrain you may have encountered before.
Embarking on this adventure, the landscape unfolds in a mesmerizing progression, each step revealing a new facet of nature’s grandeur. The journey commences amidst lush green farmland, where vibrant hues stretch as far as the eye can see. Day 2 :
• Early morning transfer to the airport for a flight to Lukla.
• The 35-minute flight journey to Lukla will pass through valleys with breathtaking views of the mountain ranges and the Nepali villages atop them.
• Start your trek to Phakding from Lukla, Overnight Stay at Phakding
• The route is surrounded by huge green mountain ranges and suspension bridges where the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers flow.
• Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
• Namche Bazaar, a bustling tourist hub, offers an ideal setting for acclimatization.
• Immerse yourself in Nepali culture and traditions.
• Take advantage of last-minute shopping opportunities for trekking essentials.
• Consider a short hike to the Namche Museum, perched above the town, for an enriching cultural experience
• Enjoy a relatively easy and smooth trail with accompanying views of the Himalayas.
• Spot the native wildlife such as Himalayan Tahr and Himalayan Monals.
• Climb up to see the famous Tengboche Monastery which is known to be the Largest Buddhist Monastery of the Khumbu region.
• Get yourself ready to walk past the village of Pangboche through the Chortensand Mani walls.
• Stop over for lunch and continue on Imja Valley, then descend to Lobuche River before arriving at Dingboche
• Marvel at the panoramic views of peaks like Lobuche East (6,119 m), Lobuche West (4,940 m), and Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) that surround Dingboche.
• Consider a brief hike to Nangkartshang Peak for stunning vistas and acclimatization.
• Trek to Lobuche begins and slopes along the edge to Thukla town.
• The flat trail till Thukla will offer some of the best views of the Mount Everest base camp trekking expedition.
• Overnight in a Tea House/Mountain Lodge at Lobuche.
• We take the trail to Everest Base Camp through the once-vast Gorak Shep Lake.
• Continuing straight ahead, we come across the Indian Army mountaineer’s memorials. The path from here can be misleading; hence, it is important that we follow our lead Sherpa diligently.
• We pass through rocky dunes, moraine, and streams before reaching the Everest Base Camp. Overnight in Gorak Shep
• We prepare for an early morning departure, amid predawn darkness and cold temperatures (-10 to -14C). Plus, there is always the potential for chilly winds, which are quite common.
• Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself. But it is upon reaching Kala Patthar that we get to see 360-degree up-close and formidable views of Mt. Everest.
• We trek down the hillside blanketed by Rhododendron and Juniper trees.
• In the forest, we may come across colorful pheasants and mountain goats. The path eventually reaches Sansa from where we can enjoy views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and
Nuptse mountains.
• Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
• The trail descends steeply downward, so we need to walk cautiously as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain.
• After crossing the suspension bridges over the fast-flowing Dudh Koshi and its
tributaries, the trail becomes more level and natural.
• After our arrival in Lukla, we stretched those sore Overnight in Lukla.
• Fly back to Kathmandu/Ramechapp from Lukla We spend our last day of the trip with
the team enjoying the nights.
